Project GANESH

Information for Grant Applicants

Requests and nominations for funds from Project GANESH will be made through the grant application process, using the Project GANESH Grant Application form Applications are reviewed by the directors on a schedule determined by the funds available and by the number of applications and nominations received. Funds are granted by Project GANESH based on a majority vote of the directors.

Funds will be granted by Project GANESH for any of three purposes:

  • Renovation of Hindu temples

  • Research on Hindu temple practices and traditions

  • Community economic development in Indian villages.

Eligibility requirements are given as follows:

Hindu Temple Renovation Eligibility Requirements: Nominated or applicant temples must not be privately owned, must be religiously, historically or culturally significant or must be important to the community, and must be in need of practical repair and support.

 

Hindu Temple Research Eligibility Requirements: Nominated or applicant researchers must demonstrate proficiency and skill in research, propose reasonable and legitimate research projects, and must be demonstrate that they have sufficient resources, in addition to funds provided by Project GANESH, to complete the research project.

 

Community Economic Development Project Requirements: Nominated or applicant community economic development projects must be under the supervision and control of legitimate organizations or individuals. Organizations must be registered charities, trusts or other non-governmental organizations in the country in which the work is conducted. Individuals must demonstrate legitimacy and success of other community economic development projects to be considered for a grant from Project GANESH.

All applicants must complete the Project GANESH Grant Application form. Successful grant applicants must also complete the Project GANESH Recipient Attestation and Recipient Understanding of Verification, Investigation and Audit.
